EPUB Toolset provides browser-based EPUB utilities at epubtoolset.com.
Browser-Local EPUB Processing
The core tools are designed to open and transform EPUB files in your browser. Your selected ebook, its chapters, images, metadata, and generated output are not uploaded to our servers for viewing, editing, or extraction.
The selected EPUB is held in the current browser tab's memory. Refreshing or closing the tab clears that in-memory file session. We do not store the raw ebook in localStorage or a cloud account.
The site still loads application code, fonts, analytics scripts, and static assets from our hosting or configured providers. These normal page requests may expose technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, requested URL, and timestamps. They do not need to include the EPUB file, book title, author, file name, or chapter text.
Publication Content And External Resources
EPUB files can contain HTML, CSS, SVG, scripts, fonts, images, and references to external websites. Publication scripts and external network resources are blocked by default in the viewer. Packaged images and fonts can be resolved locally from the EPUB.
If a future control lets you load an external image, font, or other resource, the request will go to that third party. The remote server may receive your IP address, request time, browser information, and a resource URL that could identify the publication. The interface will ask before making that request.
Information We May Process
We do not require an account, login, or payment for the current tools.
We may process:
- Hosting, CDN, security, and analytics logs for normal page requests.
- Browser preferences such as theme and language.
- Local tool preferences or reading position stored on your device.
- Email address and message content when you contact us.
We design analytics events so they do not contain ebook files, file names, titles, authors, identifiers, chapter text, extracted text, or generated output.
Analytics
The site may use Google Analytics and Plausible Analytics when configured. These services can help us understand page visits, referrers, device categories, general tool usage, and error rates. Their own privacy practices apply to the requests they receive.
Cookies And Local Storage
The site may use cookies or local storage for theme, language, consent, tool preferences, and local reading position. The raw EPUB file is not intentionally stored in localStorage.
Advertising
The current release does not load advertising scripts by default. If advertising is enabled later, this policy will be updated with the applicable providers and data practices.
Data Retention
EPUB content is not retained by us for tool processing because the core workflow runs locally. Contact emails and technical logs may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve the service or comply with legal obligations.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal data held by service providers. Contact us to make a request.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised date.
