Move a manuscript, study notes, or a long tutorial from Markdown into a reflowable EPUB 3. Paste the source or select a UTF-8 .md or .markdown file, choose the heading level that starts chapters, and review the resulting contents before downloading. The converter keeps supported document structure rather than preserving Markdown punctuation as plain text. It is designed for a single document with an intentional reading order, not for automatically assembling an entire notes vault.
Split at level-one headings, at both level-one and level-two headings, or keep one chapter. The preview lists the actual chapter titles in order. Headings inside fenced code, lists, or quotations do not create unexpected chapters.
Headings, emphasis, lists, quotations, code blocks, and basic GFM tables become XHTML elements. A clickable EPUB contents document links to the chapters. Images become alt text, with an explicit warning before export.

Only headings at the document's outermost level can start chapters. In the default mode, each level-one heading starts a chapter; level-two through level-six headings stay inside it. The second mode splits at both levels one and two, which suits a document with one book heading followed by section headings. A book-title-only chapter can therefore appear: remove that heading if the title belongs only in metadata. Any material before the first matching heading becomes a separate chapter named after the book. Heading-only sections are retained. The EPUB contents lists chapters, while smaller section headings remain in the body. Duplicate headings receive distinct internal anchor identifiers, and supported fragment links are rewritten to the appropriate output chapter.
The converter handles CommonMark-style headings, paragraphs, strong and italic emphasis, ordered and unordered lists, blockquotes, links, inline code, and fenced or indented code blocks. Supported GFM additions include tables, strikethrough, automatic web links, and task lists shown as static check marks. Tables have header cells; code stays selectable text without downloaded syntax highlighting. These are semantic structures, not screenshots of your editor. A reader can change font size and line wrapping, and a wide table or long code line may still need editing for a small screen. Footnote references expand into inline text notes rather than generating a separate notes section and backlink system.
A single Markdown file does not include the files behind its image paths. This version neither fetches remote images nor imports local attachments: image references become their alt text, or a visible omission label when alt text is empty. The workspace reports how many images are affected. Raw HTML is escaped and printed literally rather than executed. HTTP, HTTPS, and email links remain clickable; local paths, unsafe protocols, and missing heading fragments keep their labels without a destination. Export does not contact those links. Wiki links, embedded notes, plugins, custom CSS, and mathematical typesetting are outside this version's supported syntax.

Yes, when the note uses supported standard Markdown. Before converting, replace wiki links and embedded-note syntax with ordinary text or supported links. This tool does not resolve a vault, follow note dependencies, or collect attachment folders.
An ordinary newline inside a Markdown paragraph is a soft break and reflows as whitespace. Use two trailing spaces or a backslash before the newline for an explicit line break. Blank lines separate paragraphs. This differs from the site's plain-text converter, which retains single newlines.
No. Editor themes, plugin output, fonts, and page dimensions are not transferred. The output uses simple reading styles, and EPUB apps can override them. Check long tables and code on the smallest screen you intend to support.
No. It changes supported formatting into an ebook package. Review factual claims, citations, confidential information, and permission to distribute the content yourself, just as you would for a manually written manuscript.
Keep your source file for further editing. EPUB stores rendered XHTML, so converting it back to Markdown cannot guarantee the same whitespace, delimiters, reference definitions, or original syntax choices.
